Congratulations Brian Ortega, 2014 preseason HR champion!
Mar 9, 2014, 12:26 pm

Brian hit 6 to edge Justin Toone (5) and Max Willard (4). Many contestants made for a good showing and while there was an absence of wind, the tournament was a reminder how fun long ball hitting can be! See you next Sunday for the start of the season!

1045 Home Run Contest

Tournament team finishes 2nd!
Feb 22, 2014, 10:03 pm

The team played a series of fun and challenging contests Saturday, February 22nd. The team defeated the eventual 3rd place team (10 teams total) 21-16 Rallying from a 6 run deficit twice. The TSTT then won in walk off fashion (Randy Ransom blast) 19-18 after squandering a pair of 7 run leads. In the winner's bracket game, the team spotted the champions a 9-0 lead in the 1st but rallied to a 13-12 lead entering the last inning. Unfortunately an 8 run counter gave the TSTT its only defeat. The team eliminated the 3rd place team 22-16 in a similar replay of the morning game. Then playing the winner, TSTT took a 13-0 lead and led 13-3 late in the game when the team was DQ'd having added a league player late due to attrition of the day and time. However, the team performed admirably and represented the league in stellar fashion with togetherness, spirit, resolve, enthusiasm and recruited a few players at the fields! All the players had excellent performances including Max Willard (approx 9 HRs), Justin Reed (organizer and energizer), Randy Ransom, Andrew Williams, Brandon Yamiuchi, Tommy Apligian, Matt Rueckel, JJ Eusay, Ryan Alford, and Kyle Casper.
