Temple Shalom tournament team wins the Title in scintilating fashion!
May 19, 2012, 7:28 pm

Congratulations to the tournament team, now being sponsored by the commissioner, for winning the league's 1st open tournament title in history. The Team prevailed 21-1 and 16-1 advancing by "runr ruling" the opposition in the 1st 2 games. Game 3 featured the league representative advancing 10-4, through the winner's bracket, to play the pretournament favorite Banditos. In the title game, the Banditos took a 4-0 lead after one. The Shalom "Rangers" scored 7 in the 2nd and stretched the lead to 12-7 entering the bottom of the 4th. The Banditos only left 2 minutes on the clock while tallying 10 runs to put the league at a 17-12 deficit. It was at this point, as visitors, that the Shalom league had a truly shining moment, by scoring 15 runs! All players in the title game had a hit before an out was recorded in taking a resounding 10 run lead for the 27-18 title clinching victory.

The amazing sequence of performers, in order of appearance in the final inning, were Aaron Weintraub, David Tennyson, Marc Biesman, Kyle Casper, (sponsor- commissioner) Wayne Casper, Daniel Klevanosky, Justin Reed, John Banta, Bob Davis, Scott Lawrence, and JJ Eusay, before aaron kept expanding the lead on sequence # 2!

Other performers for the team included Sean Greeley, Andrew Williams, and John  Hauf.

There were phenomenol displays of pitching from Davis/ Banta; strong fielding around the horn, but especially Klevanosky, Reed, Tennyson, Williams, Biesman, Lawrence and Eusay.

Hitting was well represented across the board, but of note was Reed's HRs/ RBI production, excellent distribution/ contributions from all the above players (including a 10-12, 2 bbs from the last batting captain)!

Most importantly, all the players represented the league in an amazing fashion and displayed cohesive comraderie! Thanks to all the players whole heartedly!
