BUHROW JAYS ON TOP OF THE TEMPLE SHALOM SOFTBALL WORLD!
Aug 18, 2013, 11:42 am

The Buhrow Jays captured the 2013 Temple Shalom Softball League Championship over the Farin Yankees, 8-3 and 16-9.  The Jays, who had the League's best record during the Regular Season (20-4), grabbed an early lead in each game in route to the sweep.  The Yankees, who rode a hot streak from the Minis to the Finals, mounted a spirited comeback in the second game but ultimately fell short.

A special congratulations to David Buhrow, as he became the first rookie captain to win the title since Bob Davis in 2002.

Rich Johnson & Chris Bichler POW & ROW
Jun 26, 2013, 6:45 pm

Each led his team to a doubleheader sweep and ongoing momentum for the Royals and Jays!

Angels :  POW - Fred Levay 5-6, 1 walk, 1 run, 2 rbi's
Jays:
POW Jeff Radnoff - 6-8 with 6 RBIs and 4 Runs
Yankees:  Pow candidate Doug Storm 5 for 6 stellar 3rd base
Pirates: Player of the Week was BRANDON STRULL, He had 6 Hits in 6 at bats, including 1 Double, scored 4 Runs, and had 6 RBI's,
plus played his usual stellar defense in LCF.
Scrappers:  POW for June 23rd is Aaron Bransky.  Aaron had a great day fielding in unfamiliar territory and had a great day hitting at the plate.  In the first game he had 3AB with - 2 singles - scored twice and had 2 RBI's.  In the second game Aaron had 4AB with 2 singles, 1 double, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI's

Royals:

POW Rich Johnson  6 – 8, 6 Runs, 12 RBI, 5 Fence Homeruns, GWRBI in Game 1

Rich turned in a record breaking day at the plate and a spectacular day in the field.  He set a Royals’ record and tied a TSSL record on Sunday, as he hit five homeruns in the doubleheader.  He did so in dramatic, game winning fashion, as he knocked in 12 and had 21 total bases, and had the GWRBI in game 1; a come-from-behind victory over the Riverdogs.  He hit two fence homeruns in game 1, and three fence homeruns in game 2 – including a grand slam.  Oh…and he also turned in multiple defensive gems in left centerfield.

Yankees: Row candidate Jonathan Braun 2 for 5, 2 BB's, 3 runs
Jays: ROW = Chris Bichler - 7-8 with 1 double and 4 Runs
Angels: ROW - TJ Underwood 4-8
