Temple Shalom Tournament May 17th
Apr 25, 2014, 1:25 pm

Gentlemen,

I am pleased to announce that the Temple Shalom League will be holding an in season tournament. Please fill out an application the same as you did to sign up for the league. Only fill out your name, the team you play for, and your best positions.

In the spirit of fellowship, and the opportunity to play more games as a community, unrelated to our current season, we will have our first Saturday inter-league tournament for those of you interested in playing several games on May 17th. The deadline for signup is May 9th, so that we can take the pool of registered players and conduct a mini-draft for the tournament. All players will be assured of playing 3-4 (most likely 4) games. There will be a single elimination playoff after a modified round-robin for seeding. The plan is for the tournament to conclude before sundown and possibly before 6:00 PM. A minimum of 40 players will be required for us to conduct this tournament. The entry fee is $20 per person, which must be paid before May 13th.

Please make payments in cash to your captains, and if you need pay pal to make your payment, email John Hauf at lazyhx@sbcglobal.net

Thanks,

Commissioner Wayne Casper

Suspended games from yesterday will be completed 815 AM June 22nd
Apr 14, 2014, 3:48 pm

All the match ups from yesterday at 10 AM will occur for the 3rd and final time on June 22nd at 845. All of yesterday's 10 AM games will resume where they left off yesterday. I have found inconsistencies in the game time left as well. All games will resume w 25 minutes left on the clock, in the half inning with runners assuming their spots, starting at 815 AM prior to the regular scheduled game.

For players who will miss the 22nd. I will review w each captain their line up situation and we will do the best we can to replicate the line up as it was played yesterday.

No stats will be recognized until the games are complete. Here is the score/ situation for the 9 games yesterday.
Again, I will be in communication with each pair of captains for all 9 games as we approach June 22nd.

When the suspended game is complete, the 2 teams will then play their scheduled full game at approximately 845. Both contests will finish on the field assigned for June 22nd.

For the Yankees and Pirates, It is likely your 2 teams will play a "second" co-occurring game of the week on field 3, on May 18th!

Weather Forecast better & No Collisions at the Plate (Including you Max !)
Apr 9, 2014, 7:04 pm

Weather looking better for our doubleheader. Come to the GOW for Corner Bakery coupons & Free Fall Play to 1 fan after the 5th Inning!

About plays at the plate. Catchers- DO NOT BLOCK THE PLATE! The runner should be ruled automatically safe if you block the entrance to the plate on the baseline. Use the sweep tag. Runners- Slide or avoid the catcher but do NOT run them over. You are suppose to be removed from the game. Captains should be reminding you of this every weekend.

Enjoy the games. Also, there will be a BBQ place on the grounds selling food if you like. This is set up by the city.

Triple headers in 2 1/2 weeks.
