Sign Up For The Temple Shalom Tournament

The Temple Shalom League is pleased to announce that they are going to be holding another tournament on Sept 27. ALL league members are more then welcome to sign up and play. If you are interested please submit an application in the 2014 Player applications tab. After filling out the information click on the I am signing up for tab and click Shalom Tournament and the fee is $20. I encourage all Shalom players to sign up even if your not playing this fall. I hope to see you out there. 
 


A's Win the Championship!

The A's won a tense game 1, 20-19! The game had the visiting Scrappers score 6 in the top of the 1st. The A's answered with 3 in the home half. In the home 2nd, the A's scored 9 for a 12-6 lead after 2. The Scrappers chipped away over the next few innings and had a 18-12 lead after 4 1/2 innings. It was the 2nd tim e for the Scrappers to be up 6. The A's scored 1 in the home 5th, but the Scrappers responded w 1 in the top of the 6th. The A's showed further resilience with a 7 run rally in the 6th for the 20-19 win.

The A's scored 6 in the top of the 1st in game 2, and won the 2nd game 10-1 over the forlorn Scrappers. Game 1 was a classic. Both teams represented themselves and the league well. MVP was Mark Livesay with 4 fence HRs (2 2Bs and other hits) including a grand slam in the home 6th of the winning rally.

Due to unseasonable weather, but typical 2014 Shalom Softball weather,

the World Series will start at 8 AM Next Sunday, pushing back the start of the Fall league a few hours, and the HR contest after that.

A's meet Scrappers in Fabulous Championship! Series at 845 Sunday, the 17th!

The top seeded A's eliminated the Tigers by an eerily similar 9-6 score that the teams previously played to. The other 1 seed, the Scrappers, eliminated the upstart Royals 5-4 in a taut game. Both teams enter the championship with the best records through the year and are unbeaten in the playoffs.

At the championship. Please note that attending HOF inductees will be introduced prior to introducing the 2 teams, and will collectively throw out the first pitch. Do not miss this wonderful match up!

Also, The Fall league starts the 24th, and there will be a HR contest at 11 am that day on field 1 too!

A's & Scrappers 1 win away form championship Match. Tigers/ Royals still alive!

In the top bracket, the A's defeated the Tigers 9-6 to advance to the bracket final. The Sea Dogs eliminated the Lugnuts 11-10. The Tigers then eliminated the Sea Dogs 9-8.

In the second bracket, the Scrappers beat the Red Wings 13-8. The Royals edged the Yankees 12-7 in extra innings to eliminate the Yankees. The Royals the euthanized the Red Wings easily.

Next week, on field 1, the A's need 1 win over the Tigers to advance to the title matchup while the Tigers must win twice. On field 4, the Scrappers need 1 win over the Royals to advance to the title pairing. The Royals must win twice.
