Phyllis Unell Scholarship

The Temple Shalom Brotherhood, in conjunction with the Temple Shalom Softball League, announced the establishment of the Phyllis Unell Scholarship in 2003.  In honoring Phyllis' commitment to education and the promotion of social progress, the Scholarship's recipient will be awarded $500.00 for tuition, books and other related collegiate expenses for the upcoming school year.
The Phyllis Unell Scholarship is an annual award offered to a dependent child of a current Shalom Softball League player.  The recipient is announced annually at the December Brotherhood Breakfast during the presentation of the annual Temple Shalom Softball League Awards. Please fill out the application and submit all entries to Wayne Casper at wmcasper@hotmail.com. The application is located in our tabs under Phyllis Unell Scholarship. With a few upsets and hard fought games The Nuts are the undefeated seed who will play the Marlins again and the Brewers and Expos will play. Congratulations to all the teams still playing.

Moment Of Silence For Arlie Slack

As many of you know already the sudden passing of Arlie Slack this past weekend was a shock to us all. Arlie was an outstanding member of the league and represented brotherhood at it's finest. He was someone many of us looked forward to playing with or against on Sundays and he has touched many people the years he was here. With this said to begin Sundays 8 a.m. games we will have a moment of silence at each of the fields being played. If you are playing at a later time you are more then welcome to come early and pay your respects. Also after the games October 29th at Rugby House Pub in Plano there will be a memorial for players.

Nuts POW of week Jon Simonson  4 hits and a BB  3 for 3 in game 2  5 runs scored

Marlins POW: Tony Lowery 6 for 7, 2RBI's

EXPOS POW John Burke  5-6  HR, 4 singles, SAC,  8 RBI, 4 R.. John Burke was a stud on the mound too!! Held the leagues top offense to 6 runs and pitched 10 of a possible 12 scoreless innings on the day.

Ranger POW
Badger Hurst 5-5, 5 runs scored and outstanding defense(as usual).

Lake Monsters POW: Jonathan Braun 5 for 5, BB, 2 Runs
ROW: Donald Prim: 5 for 5, SF, HR, 2b, 4 RBI, 4 Runs.

Cubs Pow: tony Dillard 2-4 walk single triple. Excellent play at first.

Row: Eric clausen 2-6 three runs scored excellent play at third base

Rubber Ducks POW is LCF Zack Kazda: 8-8 with BB, triple, 2 RBI and 6 runs scored from lead-off spot.

Honorable mention SS Matt Ruckel: 8-9 with HR, 3 doubles, 6 RBI and 6 runs scored.

Brewers POW John Hauf: 6-8, 4 runs scored and 1 RBI in the leadoff spot. Also pitched well in both games

Express POW: Robert Garcia - 6 for 7, 5 Singles, Double, 2 RBI's and 5 Runs Scored
ROW: Alex Bruu - 4 for 7, 2 Singles, 2 HR’s, 8 RBI's and 4 Runs Scored
