Ranger's Rap

Ger's had a Meat Loaf day...2 out of three ain't bad....splitzky with the Mets after winning the opener 14-7 and having quiet bat time in 2nd tilt on short end of a 10-6 score-only 10 hits in the second game.  They then played the mighty Cubs and were down early 3-0 and 3-1 as the game moved deeper.  Ranger rally rained supreme with a final victory of 12-8.  Now improved to 6-10, the Rangers seem to be headed in the right direction.  Rick M did a great job in pitching theree games for the Gers as a super-sub.  Smith found his stroke in game 3.....Defense was good most of the day...and timely hitting was there in Game 1 and 3.  We are ready to burst into the playoff run in this final 10 game stretch.

Ranger Bests:

POW-Harlan Davis  6/8, 3 runs, 3 RBI's, 3 Doubles and a BB

ROW-Josh Wilkerson  4/7, 4 runs, 4 RBI's,a  3B and BB

Santi-4 hits and 4 RBI's

Chino-3B and 2B

Lefky-3BB's, 3 Hits, 3 Runs

The Pirate Player of the Week was DARREN KAMMER - his hitting was not what it needed to be in our Triple-header yesterday, but his PITCHING was top-notch - he pitched 3 complete games and we won all 3 games by the scores of 8 to 6, 10 to 8, and 6 to 5. Never once did he ask to be taken off the pitcher's mound because of fatigue.

The Pirate "ROOKIE" of the Week was MATT PARKER, whose all-around play continues to amaze all his teammates - In 11 at bats, he had 7 hits (including 2 doubles and 2 RBI's (batting second)) but the best part of his offensive stats is that for the second week in a row he drove in the walk-off win with a solid single to the outfield. Defensively he continues to shine.

Red Sox POW….three candidates….

·         Blake Jones   7 AB, 3 1B, 1 2B, 2 HR, 9 RBI

·         Nick Milton  6 AB, 2 1B, 1 2B, 1 3B

·         Ben Rakofsky 5AB, 1 1B, 2 2B, 1 3B, 4 RBI, 2 SAC

Marauders POW Tim Jamieson- 5 for 8 with 2 HR, 3B, 5 runs, 4 RBI
